Hello.

Great forum.

I am new here and looking for road rides in Central Michigan, if you know of any. Not a speed demon, just looking for a group who does touring speed rides.

Hi BC,

Welcome to the Forums. I'm a native of the East Side of Detroit, and lived in Ann Arbor and learned to appreciate the cycling lifestyle there in the 1970's, so I always like to say Hi to Michigan cyclists. Whereabouts are you from?

I was mostly a cycle tourist for a long time, including in Michigan and Ontario, and now a year round commuter and occasional centurian here in Boston. My only foray into Central Michigan was a tour from Detroit to Midland, then to Saginaw and along the Thumb to Port Austin and down on or alongside M-53 back to Detroit.

I road for several years with the Tri-County Bicycle Association in the Lansing/East Lansing area.

Did the bicycle commute in Spring through Fall from East Lansing to downtown Lansing.

Right now I am about a fifteen mile commute to work so drive most days. I live in Alma and work up in Mount Pleasant.

Thanks for your reply. Is Lansing in "mid-Michigan"? I have ridden twice from Ann Arbor to East Lansing.

BTW, my commute is 14 miles one way, but I have the luxury of taking the Commuter train home in the evening. :D I do ride all year round though, rain, snow and single digits. This was my first year with studded tires.
