Hi;

we're going to SF in a month or so and hoped to rent some road bikes on a weekend. Nothing fancy, just a decent bike.

any suggestions for a decent shop would be appreciated.

Hi pgoat - this one comes up pretty regularly here. This (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=450247&highlight=rent+bike)seems as good a thread as any to point you to, don't have first hand experience, but you can probably find a bunch of "visiting SF" or bike rental threads here.

I replied on that other thread. Check out Blazing Saddles- they are a huge rental-only outfit and they get hundreds of people on bikes to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. I've had decent luck with them, so you might check them out as one choice.
