Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Velo Out Look Gel Saddle.

This looks comfortable as hell and us cheap. Though I have no idea how durable it is, I feel this would comfort like no other.
Id get rid of the ugly lables all over it but yeah. Prob weights 350 grams+ so heavy
Thoughts?

i'd never use that i dont care how comfortable it is, im sticking with my Rolls and Concor

I know it sounds counter intuitive, but have you ever tried a harder saddle? I have some lower back issues so i thought I would need something like this, only to find it slayed my butt and back. My san marco regal with minimal padding is infinitely more comfy. That said saddle preferences are like snowflakes, every one is... you get the idea.

My experience with a saddle that looked like that (Specialized Body Geometry comfort) turned out to be the worst saddle I ever bought. The padding was so soft that I sunk in which allowed parts to push up into *my* parts creating friction and pressure, and eventually the padding collapsed at the edges, allowing the shell to rub the inside of my thighs. I was only using it for my 6-mile commute, but after six weeks I took it off and threw it away.

On the other hand, the *best* saddle I've used is the original Selle Italia Flite. The padding is so firm I can barely push it in with my thumb, so all my weight is supported by my sit bones, and there is no pressure on my soft parts.

Going to have to agree. I mean, its great if it fits your rear end, but its nothing to show off.

If you think a gel saddle is what you need, I think you should start by saying why you think you need it. Upgrading a low-end bike's saddle isn't a bad idea, but make sue you're going in the right direction.

Shim- I agree with your love for the Flite. I've been using the same one that I bought very used two years ago for all of my urban FG riding, and I couldn't be happier. I've never once had the urge to swap it.

I bought my first one quite a few years ago, and it is still in excellent condition. Over the past couple years I experimented with it on one bike and a Brooks Swift on the other bike. Finally this spring I decided the Brooks just wasn't as comfortable, so I scanned eBay for a while and finally snagged another original Flite for the second bike.

Only recently, I found that ProBikeKit is selling a re-issue of the original Flite in black with "vanox" rails, and Excell Sports is selling the brown one with Ti rails.

I'm surprised with how well they take abuse- I ride mine often in shorts or jeans; Ive worn holes in my pants, and have just cause a few scuffs on the saddle. I admit I feel a little guilty, messing up such a 'perfect' saddle- I hope they still make them so well these days.
