Mountain Biking - I need help!! Ventura Mammoth???

I was recently given a bicycle, it has on the side Ventura, and on another bar Mammoth, it has an aluminium frame, here are some pics of what it looks like;

As you can tell im not very good with bikes, so i googled the brand and bike and couldnt find any results, the bike was designed in the USA as stated on the bike frame. I want to sell the bike but i do not have the slightest clue about the value of it, i was wondering if anyone could please help me!! Maybe a link to a website or maybe someone could value the bike for me??

Not trying to be a smart @ss but it looks like that brand is just a very small step up from the Wally World bikes.

Mammoth were in business in the early 90's with some nicely designed bikes. They were capitalizing on the Mammoth Mountain Downhill race by using the Mammoth name. I vaguely remember Mountain Bike Opinion (Action) magazine doing a favorable review on their elevated chainstay model but that could just be because Richard Cunningham of Nishiki Alien and Mantis Flying V fame was their technical editor at the time. I don't know where in the heirarchy your particular model falls but know that they were a bike shop quality manufacturer, not comparable to a wally world special.

They never made it big time (obviously) but I believe some of the higher end stuff was made here in the USA.

The brand of the OP's bike is VENTURA.

It is of the low-end quality ie. WalMart.

Never heard of Mammoth bicycle brand. A quick Google search reveals nothing. A fig newton of your imagination?:)

But there was a Mammoth bicycle company in the early 90's headquartered in northern Cali somewhere, and they did indeed make mountain bikes. I think the models were M2000, M2200, etc... Not to be confused with the Raleighs of similar nomenclature (M200, M300, etc.). And also not to be confused with the old Panasonic MC (Mountain Cat, for those who are really curious) 2500, 3500, and so on.

My mistake, however, I was assuming the bike in the OP's post was one of these NorCal company bikes.

They were elevated chainstay with the downtube raised to pierce the seat tube, in a straght line with the chainstays. Very similar to the Brent Trimble carbon fiber bike.
