So I got a 705, and out of impatience, I chose to download the maps to my microSD card that I can place in a slot in my computer. However in doing this I have run across a few problems that I can't seem to get my head around.
1) Every time I try to download the file, it seems to get snagged along the way and stop downloading (it will stop at random % completed i.e 56%, 89%, 69%). The download seems to lock up and not go anywhere. I let it download overnight, and still hadn't gotten past 60% by this AM... (being download on a dell laptop new as of 2007)
2) Should the microSD card be in the garmin or in the computer slot accessory...it doesn't seem to work if in the garmin.
3) Should I just try to get garmin to send me the DVD and cancel the download? It hasn't been completed once yet.
4) Does it matter if the microSD card is 4gb in size?
Sorry for the questions, I knew there is a running 705 thread, however there is A LOT of info in there atm. I appreciate your answers.
