So yesterday i weighed in at 340!!! woo hoo thats 60 lbs in less than 3 months!

#2 i came home from work and found a Trek Remedy 7 in my bathroom for my 26th B-Day from my wonderful G/f.

I was in shock!!!! I couldnt believe it.

My second notion was o no it dual suspension and at my weight i could have problems. She told me that she extensively talked to the LBS and they talked with Trek and they were confident that they could put enough air in the shocks to handle my weight!!!

So i went riding last night and man WOW its awesome!!!!

She supports the things that give you pleasure and that speaks volumes.

Woo-Hoo!!! What a happy birthday indeed!! I probably would have peed myself if I walked in on that (especially when you consider that I already had to go in the first place)! Ride your new bike to the closest jewlery store and get her an engagement ring before someone else on this forum does :D

So what happened to the tassels and the bulb horn from picture one to picture two? They will help you be seen and heard ya know

She does i bought her a trek 820 a few months ago. She goes to Hanna Park with me once in a while. And road rides with me once in a while. She is still getting to the point where she can ride for decent distances though!

A wonderful gift - but just a word of caution - I can appreciate what the shop told you but the shock, no matter how good it is and how much air you put in, is not made for your weight. Just remember that - ride the bike carefully until your weight drops, no big drops, hits and/or craziness. Just enjoy nice cross country trails.

Good job on the weight loss! I also agree with what most have said, with a girl that pretty, who buys bikes as presents, you need to pop the question quick before someone else catches on to what you got and steals her!

Seriously... get two rings just in case.

Did you see the bike? Who cares where it was left/hidden. I just figured it would be the last place he was expecting to find such a thing, and that's where his... hopefully soon to be, fiancee put it.

I did not even pic up that you where in Jacksonville as well. Congrats on the new ride and agree, she is a keeper. Where do you typically ride? Do you ride road or strictly off road? I thought about taking my sons Trek 3900 out to Hanna, but have yet to do it. I live on the Southside and that is quite the trek out there.

Forget waiting, if you wait for the perfect time, you will have died of old age before you do. The perfect time is when you decide you want to spend the rest of your lives together. If families want a huge wedding complete with circus clowns and dancing bears, just make sure they spell your name right on the cheque:D. Technically all you need for a wedding is a licence, someone who is authorized to officiate and a witness or two.

Too true. Some things, like weddings and the arrival of children, are so disruptive (in a good way!) that there is never a 'good' time for them. Go for it, and you will find your families will clear their calendars.

Even better (stealing an idea from the Internets...), ride to the wedding on separate bikes and leave on a tandem.

60 pounds that fast....awesome results.

Your girlfriend sounds wonderful, too.

You are doing extremeley well on both counts. Congrats on getting the weight off prior to reaching your 30's.
