Utility Cycling - Biking gets plugged on Chronicle, a newsmagazine in Boston

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Unfortunately I can't find any video on line. They were featuring information on local farms and one of the farms they visited uses a bicycle delivery service to deliver fresh produce to their customers. The owner of the farm said he likes the idea of an Amsterdam style of commerce being applied in Boston.

http://metropedalpower.com/...I wonder what they pay the drivers. I'd want to work for them if the money was enough to pay the bills.

wow! stuff like that gives me hope for the world

this is good for days when i am cycling 5km to work, and part-way there I see my (perfectly intelligent and educated) friend and colleage at the same workplace, who teaches in the classroom next to me and lives only 2km from that same workplace, driving to work in her car. I pass her, and get there quicker, and we meet in the corridor outside our classrooms. It's difficult to know what to say to her, because we can't just go round telling each other what to do(tempting as it is....), but my heart sinks.

then i see organic farms delivering by pedalvan, and hope shines once again.

thanks for the post, brightened my day
