I'm leaving, on a pedal bike!
Don't quite now what it'll be like.
Sure hope my tire doesn't blow!

So yeah, off on my first tour. Starting in Whitehorse, Yukon. First stop is Skagway where I'll take a ferry down to Prince Rupert then explore the Okanagan for awhile before heading down to Vancouver and ultimately California. I've got unlimited time and unlimited funds (granted I stop a few times along the way and get a quick job, harharhar) so I think it'll be a very stress-free time. :D

My brother rode up the west coast (Cali-YT) last year, so I've been taking a lot of advice from him as well as from the (extremely helpful) sticky topics here. My bags are packed, I'm ready to go (I'm standing here-ok I'm done) and will be leaving in a matter of hours!

No real point to this topic other than me bragging about my sure-to-be-awesome trip! Wish me luck! :D:D:D

Well, I won't have reliable internet (then again, who, on tour, does?) and was planning on just posting my progress on facebook... but I still have 1.5 hours till I leave. Anyone suggest a good blogging site?

i used twitter to update my tour status and it worked pretty well using the text message feature. Works as long as you have cell phone service.

Ugh. Due to my own stupidity in reading ferry schedules, I'll either have to wait until next thursday to go to Prince Rupert or shell out an extra 200 bucks on monday and go all the way to Bellingham.

So... think I can make it from Bellingham to Penticton (where I was planning to stop and make some money) on <$500? (I'm guessing yes, but maybe I'm just too optimistic.)
