Commuting - New to Commuting...centurion comp ta

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just bought a old Centurion Comp TA off craigslist
I havent ridden in a LONG time
Wondering what changes I should make if any.
The roads here in Honolulu are pretty rough, maybe bigger tires?
right now it has continental ultra sport 27x1&1/8
Also any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive odometer/speedometer?
any other suggestions are appreciated
I suggest just riding it and if it seems to fit your needs. If it works as is, sweet. Fatter tires will slow you down a tad...depending how wide you go. However I think w/ 27" rims the widest you can easily find are 1 & 3/8". It's good practice to just watch where you're going and avoid potholes...as long as avoiding them doesn't put you in greater harm. Your local bike shop should have a selection of bike computers in a range of prices. The brand CatEye is pretty popular.
Have fun!
I've been looking for an '84 Comp TA for a while.
Nice find.
