Touring - Raleigh Sojourn a Good Deal?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
REI has it for $999 ($200 off). I don't know enough about parts to know the good or bad. However, it doesn't seem too bad with fenders, rack, Brooks, and even a pump already included. A LHT you'd have to spend a few hundred to get all of that stuff if you didn't already have it. Thoughts?

Have you ridden it? That would be the first thing to do. The price seems nice. With REI's return policy I don't see how you would have any risk in such a purchase. Tweak the gearing and maybe upgrade the rear wheel?... Depends on what you plan to do with it more than anything.
That being said. I think it's a pretty sharp looking bike.
I just saw it on-line. My REI doesn't carry Raleigh.

I just bought a RS, knowing that it had a design flaw in the front fender bracket that holds the mudflap. The attachment "rods" extend too far, so my feet hit it when turning. My LBS will make adjustments. The bigger issue is that a water bottle will not fit into the bottom cage without the top and fender rubbing each other. Bummer! Otherwise, I am pleased with the bike and ready to start putting on the miles.
