I know a bunch of you dig eggbeaters, in fact I'm contemplating buying a set. Are they easier to to release from than look style road pedals? It's not so much that the looks (actually Performance knocks offs) are that hard to get out of, but it seems like they want my foot to be at a particlular pedal position to really realease well, and.... um.... that whole fixie thing gives me only a very brief period to pull that off. So...... I gues I'm asking if egg beaters are really easier because I've been using my clips and straps for the last few months and I'm feeling guilty about my cycling shoes.
Oh, and becasue http://www.danscomp.com/ has them on sale for $49.99.

The small cleat (very similar to SPD) takes a bit of getting used to. LOOK-style is a huge cleat in comparison.

Once you get used to it, eggbeaters are sweet. For $50 you can't go wrong, try 'em out.

For me, having Looks on the roadie and Eggs on all others, I'd say the Eggs release just as well. I can release at any point in my rotation and by twisting in or out. ONe thing I have found is that it is more difficult to yank my foot out with the Eggs as opposed to my Looks. But that could just be a tension thing.

For what its worth, of em all, I like my Eggbeater Candys the best.

I second this but if you are seeking road pedals try the X series. I have them and like them lots. Plus they are easier on your knees because they have lots of float.

the problem with the road ones is you can't walk in the shoes. Plus they are finiky about gettign a real flat mounting. mine did not work right because of this. the day I went to frogs I found out about it (G) but I wanted a shoe with a recessed cleat so I could walk.

Road cleats are available for Eggbeaters... make them feel a lot better on the road IMHO

The site must have just gone live - I was on it yesterday afternoon and it was the old one. Looks good.
