whew...what a tough week. Only days I got to ride was Saturday and last Tuesday. Couldn't ride on Monday and Wednesday because of class... and today, I wanted to go but not feeling so well. I think I'm catching the flu. Trying to fight it with fluids and dayquil:(. You guys ever try to ride when a little ill? I did get to do some strength training during lunch today but no cardio. I'm feeling a little weak right now so I think I'll just rest up tonight and hopefully ride tomorrow and definitely this weekend.

Oh..short story...on my ride last Tuesday, I almost got bit by a snake riding in the bike lane. It wasn't a rattler, I think it was a garter snake or something. The snake actually snapped at me as I passed it by. I didn't even notice it snap at me. A guy in a truck was behind me saw the whole thing. As I stopped to drink some water, he stopped and told me about it. Be careful out there guys...I thought cars were the only ones I had to watch out for. Snakes were the last thing on my mind.:o

Just how does a snake ride a bicycle?

Don't ride if you feel sick, it will only deplete your body for more energy and make things worse.

About snakes, lucky escape, I'm happy that we only have one type here and that's it's very rare.

Sorry to hear you're feeling sick. Take it easy. When you're sick, or tired, or just not feeling good for whatever reason, you're gonna hurt yourself trying to force your body to do something like biking. Your body needs all the energy and resources it can get to fight off infections, or repair muscles: Add some serious exercise to that and the body simply cannot take it.

I've been pushing myself REALLY hard lately (not just cycling unfortunately.... school, work, etc). There hasn't been a day I haven't biked anywhere is more than 3 weeks, business has picked up A LOT because of father's day and the upcoming Fourth of July weekend, and the first half of the summer semester is ending. And managed to bum a ride to work for the weekend (something I loathe doing), just because I can't keep the pace up for the next two weeks without SOME rest.

get some rest. You sound like you need it, as much as you want to ride, and as hard as it is, just do it. When you feel better, you get back in the saddle and can push yourself as hard as you like
