Mountain Biking - Post pics of chain tensioners please...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Built my own yesterday, tweaked today. If I may say so quite nice.
Rather than plastic I went rubber on steel wheel. Rolls better, ultra quiet.
I used parts from a 16 mm motion film projector I had parts stripped.
And I wish to improve my hanger....and I've never seen one close up as how they are clamped and armed.
One piece of my armature is super high end plastics from the projector.
I need some pics of your gear so I can make a total metal one. No machine shop, need an idea.
Thanks >jef.

I've done about 30 miles on this thing now. Love it, having more teeth in the chain feels like you have more drive torque.
...I really like the quiet, shifting is more accurate, smoother engage and over all, jumping and pedalling the bikes quieter.
Am I deluded about the torque thing?, more push for a launch it seems.
I'm on 25 of the 38 teeth now.
A bike 'mentor' had a look and was very impressed with my steel\rubber smoothness of the wheel compared to plastic ones he'd run.. I also was planning not use it unless DH\ or jumping as It DID make a little noise with a plastic wheel.
Rubbers way nicer\ now I run it always.
Hey..how about some pics? I have to ride to a camera, and am babysitting right now.
I can't show you mine.
And it's the anchor\ arm and position\ not a side shot of your chairing (flip the bike or something.) that I'm interested in.
Thanks>jef.

Are you asking how it mounts? Some mount on iscg mounts and others are wedged in between bb cup and flange.
No pics sorry

iscg?<> yes mounts, mines off rear triangle, right under chain line-(HT), want to mount more toward bb to protect it.
Doesn't really matter, going to go buy one, but probably run my design 'till it expires.
I was hoping to get a few pic of different designs.
I'm not selling them so just stealing ideas. ;)
It was fun to build. Well... it WAS about 3 hours work, $0.00 total with tax.
