Electric Bikes - is this a good buy? ebay querstion

is this worth buying? my 24v bike just doesnt cut it anymore and i think im guna sell it. so i figure ill just start a new build and use a 48v this time. i kind of hope to make something like a dirt bike i guess. and use a brushless motor as well. using this

for the kit. now, my question is simply this- would it be wise to buy all of this? would they work togeather? are they of good quality? and what bike would be good to go with all of this?

i have used that battery pack. its heavy and the plastic container falls apart.

the 1000watt kits a good start.

Just looking at it, it is clearly intended for use in an electric scooter. The pack looks like the ones that go in the floor of said scooters. Other than that, 10.9 Kg doesn't seem too out of line,

I can see that for an e-bike application, where you are not lifting the pack out and carrying it in to charge at night, you will probably want to solder in the power out connection instead of using the three prong plug.

My scooter had a three prong plug power contact and it was constantly coming disconnected. As far as weight, you can probably shed about 1Kg by getting rid of the plastic housing altogether. As far as looking adequate, I am going to bookmark his store for when I actually get to my bike-e electric conversion. If you get one let us know how it turns out.

The trouble with things like that on e-bay is that you have a hard time knowing whether the product is reliable (and lives up to the specifications claimed) and whether the seller stands behind the product. If the product arrives broken / partially broken / whatever, it can be really hard to figure out what to do next.

well i asked the seller, and that battery is specifically for e bikes. so i think im guna go with it.

Oh, just to comment, the electric scooters translate to "electric bicycle" (电自行车 [dian zi xing che]) when translated to English. They use the same word for, what we consider to be, two different things. The electric scooters are considered bicycles, as far as traffic regulations, in P.R. China.

neat. didnt know that. before i get these new parts, i first have to sell my old bike/battery so i can get the money to afford the new stuff.

I have a 1984 Maruishi Tourace touring bike does that have a 28" wheel?

I don't know about 28 inch wheels, but according to a old catalog I have, your Maruishi originally came with 27-1/4 inch rims.
