I'm too lazy to actually hit up all my friends for money for the MS150, so last year I sold a bike to raise the minimum. I like the idea better than random contributions, so here we go again: this year I'm selling my current commuter ride. It's set up with a mix of original and Shimano components; sort of a retro updated to practical commuter duty. I ride it 17.5 miles one way to work quite often.
54 cm Fuji S-12-S frame, stripped, bottle bosses, cable stops, and STI bosses added, powdercoated black (with sparkles!). Cranks, stem, and bars are original monogrammed Fuji. These are compact (110bcd) cranks that I currently have 54/39 chainrings on, but you could go to 50/34 or whatever. Front/rear derailleur are Shimano RX100. Shifters are Shimano 7 speed bar-end, indexed. Wheels are Araya anodized alloy, 700c, hubs are Shimano with a 7 speed Uniglide rear cassette. The wheels and derailleurs were taken off of my very low mileage 91 Paramount. It has Vittoria Rubino/Rubino Tech tires that I favor for commuters. Comes with a Schwinn rack and black plastic fenders (Planet Bike? Don't remember).
The chain is new, it rides nicely, I did get one of the STI bosses brazed on crookedly and the shifters are rather ugly but functional. Comes with the classic Selle Italia seat (if you want it) but no pedals.
