Northern California - Another SportsBasement (Sunnyvale) party - June 29 6-8 PM

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My friend lost his Polar, cracked his Bell, and lost his Shimano shoes in his crash at his last triathlon, so I guess he earned some sort of SportsBasement Sunnyvale gear-replenishment shopping party because of that. I've somehow become his co-host for this party (complete with free beer and chips/snacks, etc.), so am extending this invitation to the NorCal BF community. Please PM me if you would like to come out on Monday June 29th between 6 to 8 PM and I'll add you to the list.

That's some crash to lose your shoes.

He lost skin as well. Yeah, he doesn't look good now.

How'd he crash in a tri? Group riding is not allowed right?

No, no group rides, and no-one was even 2 to 3 bike-lengths near him, according to him. He just crashed. That's the mystery. He still can't piece together how he crashed. No recollection of anything on his part, other than witness accounts that he just flipped over as if he locked up his front brake. We both wish there were lessons there to be learned, but alas. Chalk it up to one of them freakish accidents, I guess. Kudos to him for not wanting to take a break for at least a few months.

Put me down as a maybe, Jack. SB is right near my office but I'm not sure I'll be free that night.

I had one like when I first started riding a mtb. Just riding along with some friendsin Golden Gate park no troubles then boom, crash for no apparent reason. I still wonder what happened that day I'd love to have video footage.
