Is $250 too much for this bike?

12 speed road bike, with Suntour Alpha 5000 components, Sugino GP 130 Crankset, indexed shifters, double wall rims, and continental tires. Bike has been fully overhauled and tuned, with all new bearings and grease in hubs and headset. New sealed bearing cartridge bottom bracket, chain, freewheel, aero brake hoods, and Fizik bar tape. Tange double butted CroMo frame and fork, with nice horizontal dropouts. 62cm size.

I'm not a bike geek, and don't play one on TV, the links didn't work, but from your description, I'd think you were describing a late 80's to early 90's Japanese steel frame bike. If you lived in LA or SF bay area, those components on a good quality 80's steel bike in good shape would be the asking price. I don't know about the Italian bikes, I'm getting an education researching a 90's steel Bianchi bike "frame" that I bought for $250. Some have commented that that was too high a price to pay. But it wasn't too much for me because I really liked the frame. If you like that bike, it looks like it's your size, and it is in good condition; I'd say that's a fair price, but not a steal.

$250 is a high price for a Japanese bike like that one. At the same time, given the list of items repaired or serviced, you probably have $150 to $200 worth of service work included.

$175 to $200 is a more likely price range, so if you paid extra, you didn't pay a lot over market value. And you got a bike well serviced, ready to go. Sounds like you did fine.
