Commuting - Gloves

Can anybody explain why nobody makes a glove with optic yellow or orange fabric and a reflective logo so hand signals can be more easily noticed? We've got jerseys, jackets and shorts in optic colors with reflectorized this that and another thing. I even suggested it to TREK a couple of years ago, they responded that it was a "great idea" and would pass it along to their glove people. Still nothing.
I realize that there is probably only one signal that drivers notice, but you can't swear and scream at all of them.
Am I the only person who has thought of this?

I've thought about sewing some retroreflective tape onto the back of my gloves, but since I use the back of my gloves to wipe my face I haven't done it yet. I'm not sure how to do it in a way that it won't end up scratching my face, or taking up too much area.

I agree though, a reflective glove seems like a great idea.

Yeah, I can see that with the reflective material, but why not an optic orange or yellow fabric which
could be more noticeable in the light.

I wash my gloves far less frequently than my other bicycle clothing. Probably average once a year, whether they need it or not (they most definitely do it).

Probably because the market treats gloves and such as fashion more than practical safety items.

Can you name a place anywhere in the world where "safety gloves" are marketed for "vehicular" (or transportation) bicyclists?

Better yet, name any place worldwide where gloves are worn for warm weather bicycling for ANY reason, other than locations where bicycles are marketed or used as recreational toys?

I use them in cold weather. Well, kinda cold weather. Below about 35 degrees you might get chilly in them.

You could cut the fingers out for summer use. No padding though.

I've got some bright orange gloves I picked up a bike shop in Oxford, MS. They are from Specialized.

I don't know about Michigan but around here most car and truck drivers haven’t a clue what I am doing when I use any hand signal. The only signal they seem to recognize is the one finger salute.

I see hi-viz yellow ones at Performance sometimes. Personally I want some white ones.

Yeah, they really seem confused when a cyclist is actually in the correct lane in the road, doing things as we should. But like I said, we can't swear and scream at all of them.

Good point. And if we wore hand director gloves they might actually respect the signal more. my cop-like jacket gets more attention that's for sure, so why not the gloves too. yellow mechanics gloves are a great! idea and you can find them in any harware store, certainly a big one with choice likes Lowes or Home Depot

Evidently someone else thought of it, I have a pair of Trek gloves with a reflective stripe across the back of the hand...
