Road Cycling - Just picked up new bike!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So this weekend i picked up my very first road bike. a trek 2100. i got a great deal from my buddy who works at a bike shop. I am so pumped. I did 22 miles on saturday and 27 on thursday. I'm back in the city now so i gotta find some rides around here. Just thought i'd share. Can't wait to get out of work and ride!

kawch - you should upload a pic of your bike - not just the pic of the bike on trek's website.
i was looking at that bike but i'm not sure how well i fit on a 63 trek - it didn't seem long enough up top.
congrats to you though!

Got my entry level bike on Saturday a TREK 1000, Lauderdale Cyclery, got up early on Sunday left Ft Lauderdale at 6AM heading north towards Palm Beach on A1A. Felt odd after riding an old clunker of a MTB a bud had given me
Weather was cool, no breeze off the ocean
Did the first 20 miles without even being aware of it, had planned to stop in Boca and turn around but it was so easy I continued
Went all the way to Palm Beach rode around had a nice lunch in West Palm and headed back to FT L, weather much warmer but no prob.
Surprised the H out of me it was so easy.
Couple o months in Europe on it don't seem as difficult as I once thought
One more hurtle to pass and I'll make the reservation, Miami-Paris, and no looking back
