Someone just stole my bike about an hour ago. It was locked to a fence in front of my friend's apartment on the corner of Classon Ave. & Bergen St. We went for a walk and came back about 45 minutes to find someone had cut the lock. They left my girlfriend's bike but took mine, so I'm thinking it was one person and they used it as getaway transportation.

It is a Schwinn road bike frame, converted to a fixed-gear. The frame is painted white but there are numerous chips and scuffs. It has two purple "KRINK" stickers on the frame (one on each side). The seat post is silver but it is partially stained purple from where I spilled ink on it. The bike has a silver AK-47 headbadge on the front. On the back there is a "Fat Tire" bottle opener attached where the rear brake should be. The seat is black leather on top with gray "suede" on the sides (the seat is chained to the frame with a bike chain in a rubber bike tube). It has drop-down handle bars that are completely wrapped with black grip. It has a gold KMC chain, a large polished silver chainring (stamped: Made in France), Sakae cranks, silver cruiser-style pedals w/ extra-large metal clips & black leather straps. The wheels are nothing special, but they are silver with silver hubs. Black tires. The bike has no brakes.

Here are some pictures from the last time I painted it. Currently it has slightly-different handlebars and is much dirtier. It also has purple ink stain on the seat stem plus the two purple "KRINK" stickers. It's a pretty recognizable bike, so if you see it please call the police immediately and contact me as well. If you aid in returning my bike I will most definitely give you a reward. It's not a super nice bike, but I've had it a long time and I really hate to lose it.

The stickers look like this, but with purple background:

Bummer :(

Keep an eye on Craigslist, but there's a chance it's just gone. Bike thieves these days often transport bikes out of the area they're stolen -- sometimes out of the country.

Sorry! Good Luck, and yes - bookmark a few searches on ebay as well.

Thanks guys. I've checked the CL postings from today and searched eBay as well...no sight of it. I'm going to email the link around to some of the local shops as well. Thanks for the suggestions. Fingers crossed...
