......and riders needs to funnel down to about 6 across to cross over a pretty narrow mat to start their time.

What I don't show is all the riders lined up out in the street .......

Riders to the left of me..........riders to the right of me..........

I wasn't that far back and it still took me 3 mins to cross the start mat.

This is looking toward the start line:

I know this ride, it's the Blood Sweat and Gears ride in valle cruise nc. One of the finist supported and hardest rides I have done so far 13,650 fr if clinb in 105 miles. Trust me once you hit the first climb on shutes mills rd that pack is just peices of it's former selve.

Finished that ride in 6 hours and 9 minutes the year I did it, just bragging sorry!

Weak link, true enough, and if you look at the results for 2007 you will see little old me at 213th place. Not bad for a flat land ohio boy and his first time in the mountains.

I highly recommend this ride to anyone, well supported great charity(local blood bank) beautiful location.

I didn't doubt you but I went to the website and did the math.

Insane, absolutely insane.

Doing a ride with that much climbing is weird enough, but if I did the math correctly your average speed was 28 MPH? Who were you riding with? Carlos Sastre?

EDIT: oops. Didn't do the math correctly. The average speed was 17.5 MPH. That still sounds fast for that kind of distance and terrain.

+1=?????

I have 1460 miles since March this year and all but 60 miles were solo. The 60 were with my brother on two rides.
I am not a crowd kinda guy. The idea of a large charity ride has popped into my mind but after seeing this I might have to push it away.
