I'm making the jump to tubies this year and want to get a read on the Grifo compared to the Vittoria EVO XM. I'm racing in SoCal so rain isn't an issue but I'm worried about all the loose rocks and sand on the Grifo sidewalls. How well do they stand up? I know the Grifos are supposed to be nice and supple but how do the Vittorias compare?

I'm planning to go tubular for this race season as well. What are going with for rims/wheels?

I raced last year and I found rolling resistance and cornering my main concerns in a tire. I'm sure you'll agree most of the SOCAL courses are dry with mixtures of thick st augustine grass or hardpack dirt with a loose layer over it. I've used the vittoria cross tires before and have excellent experience with them. I'm sure the tubulars will perform just as well.
