Ok, so that's a contradiction in terms. I got some excellent feedback on that GT Tandem from this site. I run a small bike maintenance business in addition to being a high school teacher, and a Navy Reservist. I was pretty excited about picking up that Quatrafoil for a couple of hundred bucks and converting it to 26". I was also feeling like a decent human being for offering $200. The owner had too many memories of spending $1100 to let it go so now I've had a taste and I'm curious about what happened to the rest of those quatrafoils? Anybody got one in the garage gathering dust? What about other options I should consider? Thanks for all your help! Dwayne Scates - Clean,Tune and True

All you wanted to know about used tandems and links to tandem classified ads sites on the Web is here: http://home.att.net/~thetandemlink/usedhome.html

Your one source for tandem mountain bikes is MTB Tandems in Macon, GA, where you can get a new, steel unsuspended KHS Tandemania Comp for under $1k: http://www.mtbtandems.com

Click on "Tandems" or "Complete Tandems" to see the KHS Model. Picture and bike name are hot linked to more information. Alex Nutt is the guy to talk to.

Believe it or not there is also an Internet Discussion Forum dedicated to off-road tandems called Double Forte. There are presently 200 members from North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East who are riding everything off-road that can be ridden off-road. More information about the forum is here: http://home.att.net/~double_forte
