Although I didn't think the brakes on my Brompton where that bad, I fitted a hub brake.
It's made by Greenspeed and it brakes fine and it looks fine too.
The upcoming weeks I will test the hub brake. but so far, so good.

Sure,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/plooifiets/3671516172/ , here is an update of the first 100 km
but now we are more then 2000 km further and everything works (more) perfect. In the beginning the brake was a little noisy and the brake was not so smooth as it is now. I really like this brake and it works really well when we were biking through France.
But the best experience was just a few days ago, when the roads here were slippery and wet. The "normal" brakes of the Brompton aren't that good in slippery conditions (like many other bikes with rim brakes), but the hub brake is in wet conditions an improvement.
Most of the time the brake is an not noticeable change but in slippery conditions an improvement. Going downhill I used to check the brake (overheating) but stop doing that because I never noticed any temperature change.
The rim looks as good as new so it seem to be a durable improvement of the bike.
And I still like the look of the brake...
Good idea, especially for the wet and slippery condition.
