By this point in a typical spring/summer, I'd have been out riding this bikeway every weeknight for about two months. This season, I haven't been out there ONCE. My guess is that the wind and cool temps on Long Island have made this ride a big bummer for the time being.

Has anyone been out there recently?

Not at all. It always has a bunch of people on it. The wind is always pretty high but the temps have been real nice lately. I ride it everyday after work since I live only about 2 miles from the start. I have probably bumped into you there before.

Probably on the temporary bridge. I'm the guy with the mp3 player and the speaker on my handle bars...but not the one blasting hip hop out of his backpack. Mine plays everything from Al Jolson to The Andrews Sisters to The Beatles to the entire Eighties hit list to the current Top Forty. I ride a red 1996 GT Outpost and I've usually got my hands off the handlebars, drumming on my laps. If I'm with my wife, we usually creep along at about no miles per hour. When I'm alone, it's a different story...or at least it was LAST year, before I put on a gut from not riding for so long!
