I'm pretty new to biking. I got a Cannondale Adventure 5 a couple months ago, but it's not quite for me. I want more a commuter-style bike. Would this bike be good for a daily 9-mile round trip commute? Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I'm curious to know why he says it wouldn't be suitable for a 25-mile commute.

If it fits you, it would probably be fine. I have a similar bike for a similar distance commute that includes rollers. My previous commutes were between 30-50 miles round trip...I used drop-bar touring or xcross bikes for those....more hand positions, more aero, lighter, more nimble, faster.

The Breezer Villager is one of the bikes I was seriously considering when thinking of which bicycle to purchase. I very much liked it, but, because of its price and a few other things, it lost to my eventual choice. If anyone's thinking of getting this bike, I'll nicely recommend it: it's an excellent commuter (I say from what limited exposure to it I've had), and $400.00 is a fine price for it.

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to know about it. But I'm still curious, why would it not be good for long commutes? Speed?
