View Full Version : Tube size and psi?

My LBS didn't have my size tubes in stock, which is 700x32c, so they convinced me to buy a 700x35c. I had no problem putting it in the tire, and I inflated it to the normal pressure, which is 75 max. But now the bike feels 'weird'. I can't really explain it other than a little sluggish and harder to pedal.

I'm wondering if the usual pressure in the different size tube could cause something like this? or just the fact that it's not the "right" size, or maybe i'm just tired?

I'm curious - 75 psi max on a 32? What tires are these? I ride some 32s now with a max of 95 (Panaracer Urbanmax).

its your imagination? some tubes come labelled 700 x 32 - 38 instead of 700 x 35 to avoid this.

Usually tubes are good for a particular range of sizes and tires themselves vary so much from their stated size that I wouldn't worry about it very much. It's not a huge difference from 32 to 35.

That's cool, I just wanted to make sure the sluggishness was me and not the tire. Maybe I just need to eat better, i've been slipping off the wagon the past couple weeks and eating bad stuff.
