the other day i found a schwinn voyageur i think it is a 90' or a 91'. i found it at a garage sale and it was only $10(which seems pretty crazy to me). it is in great shape already took it for a little ride. i was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with this bike or had any useful information that they could share with me about it. i was very suprised that i couldnt find very much info online about it.

Here's a link for the specifications:

You just scored a really nice touring bike with a 23" (58cm) frame. Notice that it has cantilever brakes. Hopefully it is in good condition...not abused. These bikes go for $200 +/-, depending on market and condition. If the frame is a good fit for you, get out and ride it!

I believe it's a 1990 model (but it could be a '91). What are the four small digits lightly stamped into the headbadge?

These are nice bikes with classic touring geometry (slacker seat tube and head tube angles, fairly long wheelbase) combined with cantilever brakes and wide range gearing. At $10 it was a steal!

The Voyageur is one of my most-desired bikes. Nice find!

This is the assembly date of the bike. The first three digits are the day of the year (199th day of the year), and the fourth digit is the last digit of the year (0=1990)

Had an '86 that rode like smooth butter. Was just a tad too tall at 58cm sold just the frame for $90. You sir got a great deal!

If you are near me, and don't like it, I can maybe trade you for a "better" bike since I love mine (an older sibling). I like touring geometry.

;)

Good score for 10 times what you paid, fantastic for what you paid.
