Advocacy & Safety - New Saturn Commercial should benefit all.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well I don’t know if it is new or not because I don’t watch too much TV. But it shows the car getting hit by a bunch of stuff cars get hit with to show it does not dent or get damaged.
Well the last thing was a cyclist hitting the car while parked he hit it from the side T intersection and flew over the hood.
Now come on to be realistic it should show a driver doing a right hook hitting the cyclist. Stopping to check and see there is no damage and drive off.

Now they can hit cyclists and not even have to stop and check for dents, thanks to the wunder polymer panels.

Thank you for reminding me of exactly why I watch basically no television (and certainly don't stay put for the ads).

I wonder if I can get a helmet made out of that stuff.

When shopping for a station wagon ("estate," to you Brits and Aussies) three years ago, I scratched the Saturn LW300 from my short list on safety grounds: it lacked a shoulder harness for the center rear seat passenger and failed the side impact crash test.

I've discovered over the years that often, TV commercials claims are often the opposite of the truth. If it tastes bad, it wins taste tests. If it can't clean stains, they dump wine on it and show it coming out white. If it causes health problems, they show an athlete using it.

If it gets you stuck in traffic, they show someone flying across empty roads.

Simple solution: Don't watch TV commercials. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw one.

Clearly, here is an example of a person who rides his bike too much! Can't remember...?

Just kidding. I don't watch TV because it's a waste of time, and those ads are simply painful to watch.

Now this is a guy who is thinking. When he crashes his bike, he gets paid for it.

I hardly watch TV after moving into my new place. I refused to pay for cable and signed up for Netflix instead.

When I visit my Mom, it amazes me how many car commercials you are bombarded with in an hour. In fact, probably the most televised product on TV is the motorcar. You can understand why Americans buy so many cars. They're brainwashed!

You're a "Big" LittleBigMan to admit that to this crowd.

It's possible to watch TV without watching the advertisements. In fact, it's surprising just how many other things you can get done in a three minute commercial break.

I have a saturn. I really like it. Mine is a '91 SL with the "stripped" package on it. no airbags, no middle backseat shoulder restraint, SOHC engine (85 hp). still, it has the dent resistant panels, weighs about nothing, and handles great.

I think that you guys and gals need to learn to take a joke. it is just classic slapstick humor. relax.

relax.
Ok. I think I can do that.
