I dunno if anyone here is from boston but today i went riding on the bike path near soldiers field road near brighton and it was stupid. I ended up going in circles and there were all these trees that had roots pushing up the asphalt so i was out of the saddle every two seconds. I mean it was good to get out but there were no hills or anything. I need to find a better place to ride in and near boston. If anyone can help that would be awesome!

If you like bikepaths, try the Minuteman from Alewife to Bedford, I think. 10 miles one way. Very nice.

I'll tell you what was a lame ride. Last week, I was gonna try to do 60 miles. I had the route planned out and everything, and it was a gorgeous day. About an hour into the ride, it starts to get really dark, and I have to take off my sunglasses. I keep riding, and when I stop at a gas station to refill my bottles a little later, a lady says, "you're heading right into the storm!". I shrug and continue. the sky continues to get darker, but I continue. An hour and 45 minutes later, the sky just opens up. I get soaked to the bone, and I have to take a shortcut home or get struck by lightning. I was riding at the same speed as the storm however, so i was getting soaked the entire way home. The rain was bouncing off the street and there was about 20 meters of visibilty. i had to put my sunglasses back on becuase the rain was getting in my eyes, and i was looking behind me every 30 seconds to make sure that I wasnt going to get hit. really people, it was raining so hard that people were pulling over in their cars becuase their wipers were being overwhelmed by the rain. I put up with that for about an hour until I got home. as soon as I put my bike away (turning it upside down and what-not to get the water out, lubing the chain) the sun comes out. grr. the worst part was that I didn't get 60 miles in. only 41.8, in something like 2 hours and 45mintues.

Man, that's not lame. That's an epic ride. You won't forget that one for a while.

Ya thats a crazy ride. I thought that was going to happen to me the other day but it never rained at all. I was glad too because I wasn't sure where I was goign and didn't know any shortcuts, so things could've been really bad. Can't wait to get out of work today.
