Professional Cycling For the Fans - Watch tour online?

Cycling.tv and universal sports will not carry the tour online. Does anyone know where full live coverage etc. can be watched online?

That's an affirmative on VS. They begin covering the TdF on Saturday, July 4th, at 9:30AM, preceeded by an hour-long special on "Lance Armstrong: The Comeback Story".

Of course, it conflicts with the Women's Final at Wimbledon (and the Men's Final, on Sunday)...

Online. Versus.com only has clips and doesn't stream live as far as I know.

http://www.filmon.com has a bunch of UK channels, including Eurosport, with Sean Kelly and some other guy commentating. They may also have ITV4, who also broadcast the tour and is commentated by Liggett and Sherwin.

The quality is much better than justintv.

Versus now has an option to purchase their live streaming for $35 for the entire race or 2.95 per stage. No replays available.

hmm... versus race tracker doesn't work for me. login works fine but no stream. i got a stream once but it wasn't watchable. bummer.

Right now there's some breakup/pixelated picture but that was a problem even when I had Versus thru the dish (now canceled).

It got confusing when VS went to commercial and the online coverage kept going with Paul. Paul never stopped talking online when Phil started up on VS again. Now they were BOTH talking!

I had the same problem with Versus. I called the cable company. They said other areas had the same problem. They said Versus told them they were working on it but did not have a time estimate as to when the problem would be fixed.

I don't even bother with live feeds anymore. For the past couple of years my tour de france fixes have been satisfied by downloading the ITV4 hour long recap. I don't know why but I could easily find Eurosport coverage for the giro but no such luck with the tour for the years i've been trying. If anyone has any leads i'll take them!

You've got to try the Veetle.com. Its the versus broadcast with Phil and Paul. Excellent quality live feed.

Veetle had a rebroadcast today at 3:08 Eastern time. The commercial time alost equaled the coverage time though.

I wish I could use Veetle, it can be used in some Linux versions, but I can't install it to PCLinuxOS.

I tried viewing it with a windows version of FF and wine, but the player doesn't ever play.

Oh well, try another day.

I watched the live version today on Veetle, now I"m watching the Bob/Craig evening broadcast on Veetle as well. I'm so happy about Veetle. They do replays of each throughout the day!!!

We cut our Dish Network earlier in the year in a budget cutting move, and I was so afraid that I would miss out on the tour. Thanks Veetle for the quality!!!

Drat....veetle was working great this morning. I was planning on watching the midnight-3 re-broadcast and now the veetle channel is gone.

This sucks!!! Veetle is not working this morning. The channel is gone. However, it appears that Versus has their stream working properly today. The free stream has a different commentator, but if you buy the stream, then its Phil & Paul. Quality is better than Justin.tv, but not quite as good as Veetle.

can you buy the stream latter in the day. I have to work durring the live feed, but want to see the re-runs.

The VS free stream has been great for me the last 2 stages. Phil/Paul doing commentary. Just wish I could do pause and rewinds to catch some things ... like Cancellara coming up the opposite lane and bunny hopping the median to be the only Saxo Bank rider to hold the front split. But since I dumped the upper end DISH package to save $ it is the best I can do. (side rant about DISH forcing you to by the MOST $$$ pkg to get VS) Only thing about the free VS stream is the audio on all the post stage interviews is so muted that you can not hear at all then when VS commentator comes back it is ear shattering.

I'm going to check out Veetle too.

It looks like Veetle was busted just like every Justin.tv channel. No more tour for you.

The Versus feed has been choppy, but at least the audio was fine.

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mundanetv would go well for a while, then it would go choppy and freeze FF, though the audio still came through. It would make FF a resource hog. So, I kill it and restart.

All these streams pale in comparison to Universal Sports Giro coverage though, as it was quite good overall.

We need more decent streams for the TDF!
