Training & Nutrition - Vitamin B makes you hungry?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have heard from a couple of people that vitamin B (I think B12 more specifically but I am not sure) will make you feel hungry and in some cases even have an insatiable hunger. On top of that a lot of multi vitamins have like 3000% of your vitamin b requirements making it worse.
Any truth to this?
Thanks
found this in a search which makes me believe there may be some truth to this

I feel that it does. I don't think B12 makes you hungry, tho. And yes, B vitamins are cheap, so they really pack them in. Of course, the expensive ones like B12 you only get the 100%

I think you need to distinguish between real vit B's and whatever might be in a synthetic supplement.
When I consume foods rich in real vit B's like egg yolks and liver then my hunger is satisfied. Your body needs vit B's to utilize energy.
What may or may not be in supplements is a different story.

Someone told me that vitamin B in general helps your circulatory system and may expand your blood vessels somewhat. Madonna takes B12 shots when practicing and training and before shows. If this elevates your metabolism and you're not timing your nutrition for your exercise level then I can see you getting hungry. You've got to fuel the motor. I'm a big fan of timing bananas and raisins along with my B6 & B12 supplements prior to training sessions of any kind such as biking; swimming and weight training. Of course you have to eat complete "meals" (even if they are small) on a regular basis too ...

Its suppose to help with different things, all it ever did for me was give me insatiable hunger.
In fact I lost weight when I took it.
I would say stay away from it. There is enough crap in all these fancy shakes and bars and what-not.
If you really want to take it, pop some brewers yeast tablets.
