Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was looking at this video and there was a small bike that had a small (16"?) wheel in the back and a larger one in the front (looked like a 26"). I'm not sure if it was a folder.
What would be the advantage of this?
Here's the video if you want to check it out. The woman riding this bike appears somewhere in the middle. Cool video nontheless.:

I think the advantage is 'looking cool' as that is the net result of such a combination!
Nice vid. Everything is so clean in Tokyo. Nice to see some minibikes in there...

And not a single helmet to been seen on any of the riders.
Oh, the horror !!!
The front wheel is responsible for the main disadvantage of small wheels, namely relatively squirrely steering. So a bigger front wheel would minimize this.

well, the fork trail changes slightly, so yes, bigger front would stabilize the bike more.

Ok, maybe a bit exaggerated but here's one I saw with a huge front wheel (must at least 46")....

It's like a miniature penny farthing... except it has a chain and modern brakes. Neat.
