Hey guys, quick question for any law enforcement officer or insurance person. I was coming home from work yesterday and was following a black SUV coming into my condo complex. The driver turned their wheel to the left and I stopped behind them. I didn't see that their garage door had already opened and she backed into me. I reversed as quickly as I could but not before her bumper touched mine. We got out of our cars and we were noticeably annoyed. I exchanged phone numbers (come to think of it, she has mine, I don't have hers). I am fully prepared to go half half on her repairs, which was a superficial scratch but no other damage.

Where do I stand here? Insurance-wise? Law enforcement wise?

Hope every have a good day, happy Canada Day.

She backed into you and you are taking the blame?

She backed into you. Not your fault.

BTW... How's your neck? ;)

Yes, her fault, but.... if she denies that she was backing up it will look like you ran into her.

yup, her fault. I had an asshat back into me once. I was on the motorcycle, and he ignored me laying on the horn the whole time. Motorcycles don't have a reverse option to get out of the way, but at least he stopped once he hit me. Only scratched the paint so i just scared the **** out of him (idiot international student) to keep him from doing it again.

yeah Termite, long time no talk, been....everywhere, and no where. Too many updates. Life is treating me well though.

Yeah, I gave the number, but that was really to "sort of keep neighbourhood solidarity", I realized that this was a stupid idea but she is getting a quote and in my opinion, should not be construed as "taking blame" - is this a stupid conclusion?

I was probably following too close in any case...

I will update as things become available to me.

If she is hot you are morally obligated to get her phone number.

By the way, I'm Couch_Incident and I jump on couches.
