Hello all,

I have recently acquired a early 70's Italian made 10 speed. The stickers on the frame are "cdi". Anybody have any ideas who this is or more information on the bike? It is a VERY solid ride; almost new feeling. If I can get around to it, I will post some pics of her. Just wondering the history and value of her!

The components, if original, may help us evaluate the quality of your bike. Can you tell us anything about lugwork, dropouts (forged?; integral derailleur hanger?), and frame material stickers (e.g. Columbus)?

It has Campy components (shifters, derailers, etc...) and Bailia (sp?) brakes. I will get more info from her tonight when I get home.

CDI,

Curry Distributors Incorporated brought these bikes in
thru a Dallas distributorship. they had the frame manufactured
and rebranded them as CDI. The Italian bikes were
Liotto frames, very good bikes. Very highly thought of frames but
not well known.
is yours a gunmetal grey colour? if so probably Liotto.
CDI also imported french bikes by Vitus.

Actually, it is bright red, with half red/half chrome forks and stays.

Components are low end campy (980? valentino? can't tell), and
whoever did the pinstriping on the lugs should be shot! (looks a bit
thick to my eye).
Probably not a bad rider, a bit on the heavy side I'd wager.

She's a tank, but solid and smooth...not bad for now. Will definitely upgrade after some miles.

I have a '73 Liotto (all campy nr) - and it has completely different lugwork than your bike.,,,yours looks to be another frame-maker...don't know who, though.... if you want to see if it is a Liotto, Gino Liotto's still making bikes, and you can email him through their website.
