I am considering Bike to work. each way is hardly 2 miles.
With my limited budget I am considering buying any schwinn bikes off the craiglist for ~200 relatively new but not brand new.

I used to bike 8 miles till when I was 18 yr. I am 34 now and in good shape.

I consider schwinn to be very good bikes but looke like people in this forum have snobbish attitude towards schwinn's bike holder.

Welcome to BF.
Schwinn used to be a good name but the quality is not what it once was so Schwinn is now sold at places like Wal-Mart. I'd recommend looking at other bikes on craigslist. Maybe you'll find a good deal. Also ask the folks in the Commuting forum about bikes they'd recommend.
