Hi everyone, just wanted to share a little excitement over my new ride. I am home for the summer in Canada after teaching in the Middle East for the year. I'll be returning in September but am loving the cool temps, hills and abundance of country roads here in Ontario. I picked up my new Cervelo S1 - 61cm - yesterday afternoon and did a quick 30km in the afternoon and then 70km this morning. I absolutely love it! Feels fast but is definitely twitchier and more lively than my Scott S30 back in Qatar. Anyway, here's a few pics of my new baby.

Beautiful bike, I was in my LBS drooling over their Cervelo display this afternoon. They have some really good deals on close out bikes.

It's so pretty I want to buy it a ring and ask for its hand. Does it have a father I need to butter up first? ;)

Nice bike! I just did a test-ride of the Cervelo S2 via their Test & Win promotion. I was skeptical of the whole "aero" thing but after riding the S2 I'm a believer. Once I got it up to about 18mph it seemed almost effortless to keep it moving at that speed, unlike my Cervelo RS which requires constant work. Sadly, the aero seatpost was insanely stiff which meant that the ride was extremely harsh on the less-than-perfect roads near by house...

Awesome looking bike. Looks like it is flying just standing still.

How do you like the ergosum bars? I just ordered a pair for myself.

looks very fast and very uncomfy with that amount of bar drop :)...

hope you enjoy it :)... and the weather while you're back over this way... welcome home

Yeah, the bike is crazy stiff. I don't know if it's attributable to the seatpost or the frame. There are some roads around here that you really feel. Even the tar filled cracks are jolting, but it's still fun!

I really like these bars a lot. It's one of the things I noticed on my first test ride. I have Scott Anatomic drop on my Scott S30 in the Gulf, but these give me a more comfortable position in the drops. They flare a bit, which works for me as the tops are a bit narrower than I'm used to. They also don't have that flat section giving me more area to move my hands around on them. The tops are broader which fits my big hands better as well. I'd put these bars on future bikes for sure.

It is fast, now I need to catch up with it! I haven't measured the bar drop, but plan to to keep for my own info and to compare to my bike in Qatar. I'll ride it for a bit this summer and might drop it further with the spacers if I lose some more weight and my back agrees to it. I've found it comfortable so far, but time will tell, longest ride so far is only 70km.

I am eying the RS. I have ridden the S1 and the S2, and liked them both, but LOVED the RS. It is very nice on chip seal, which all of the country roads seem to be made out of.
