Hello guys, new here

I need help deciding....

I am upgrading my Deore LX shifters to

Shimano M770 Shifter Pods
or
Sram Attacks

Which do you guys think is better and why. Sram Attacks are way cheaper but I get the feeling you get what you pay for.

It's goin on a 07 Stumpy FSR... I am running the XT Shadow RD.

Thanks

Well since the sram wont work with your xt rear, I vote for shimano.

I've got older ('07 maybe) Attacks that work with Shimanos - got as leftover stock from pricepoint. Went from the LX Rapidfires to those. The use of just the thumb to shift takes some getting used to, but the bike shifts really well. Quite happy with them; especially with how cheap they were.

Attacks are sram's 2:1 shifter. They are made to work with shimano.

Ok my bad then. Still would prefer shimano over the attacks though. Sram x-7 or 9 I prefer over shimano but they're incompatible with XT.

Indeed the attack looks exactly like my X.5 which is adequate but not as nice as XT for sure.

Wish I could get just the rear shifter for 1/2 the cost of the pair. I only rock 1.

Yeah.......This is about the best deal on a single rear shifter, $80 at Cambria.: http://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.asp?id=69344&page=SHIMANO+XT+SL-M770+REAR+9+SPEED+SHIFT+POD

Interesting thing is, Cambria has the older series M750 left hand shifter for only $20 all day long!

Ed, I really think you should go for a three speed- 3 front, one back. Be a trendsetter!
