Texas - Houston - Where to get a bike fitted?

I bought a new bike this past weekend, and I need to get it fitted.

Where should I go and who should I ask for? How much will it cost?

A few people have suggested going to Bike Barn on 1960 and getting fitted by Curt for $75.

Jason at Sun and Ski does a good job and is very patient.

Sugar Cycles have a few Specialized certified guys, but it's been a while since I got one there.

I came across that studio on Taft St, really nice and only high dollar stuff in it. The guy seemed real nice I want to say they said around 3 bills for the fitting.

Fitting is often free if you buy a bike from the shop, which is a bit late for the OP, but something to consider for new purchasers. Daniel Boone Cycles on Crawford did a very detailed fitting that would have cost well over a hundred dollars if not purchased along with a bike. I was measured many different ways, both standing and when on a stationary bike. (This took a while, and this was reflected by an appointment having to be made beforehand.) They then picked a bike from inventory that was my size, and adjusted it to fit me. This was about 2002 or 2003.

In 1998, Bikesport, on Joanel, did a less extensive fitting, based on the sales guy putting me on a bike and mostly eyeballing, though they probably at least measured my inseam. (Floor to crotch, not pants inseam, for newbies who may be reading this.) They do have a "fit kit" system, at least by now, and it requires an appointment; I don't know the cost.

FWIW, Bikeport put me on a 57 cm Bianchi Alloro, and Boone put me on a 59 cm Bianchi Veloce. Both bikes work fine for me. The Alloro does handle far differently, but because it has more aggressive geometry, it is not necessarily "twitchier" because it is smaller. Bianchis are measured "center-to-top" along the seat tube, a.k.a. C-T, so I need to allow for this if I want to buy a bike measured center-to-center. This is a long-winded way of saying different shops may put one on different-sized bikes, and they may both be right.

Northwest Cyclery on 290 @ Jones Rd. fitted my bike to me last year. It was just a basic fit, but it was no more than $40 (I can't remember exactly how much it cost.)

I honestly cannot recommend Jason enough.. A+ customer service from adjustments to solid advice to just shooting the poo.

I bought my Trek from Southwest Cyclery back in May. With the purchase they gave me a basic fit for free. The whole process consisted of some basic measurements, then taking several different sized bikes outside for a ride. Adjustments were made on the different bikes until a frame size is determined. Once the frame size and bike model is selected, an appointment is then made for final fitting. That took about 30 minutes. The bike is mounted in the trainer, seat adjustments are made, handlebar adjustments are made, and other adjustments can be made as necessary. It may not have been as complete as some places, but all this for a entry level Trek. I have been extremely satisfied with Southwest's sales and service.
