seems like my stem is at a pretty high ange compared to most others I have seen on here. Is there a rule for where it should be?

I've got that exact same bike. I ditched that stem for a regular non adjustable stem. Mine kept slipping so I just changed it out. That stem looks high to me but I have seen people ride with an adjustable stem like that basically because they wanted a more upright position.

Put the stem where it's comfortable for you. Once you get it figured out exactly where you want it, get a non-adjustable one using those measurements. The adjustable ones are prone to slipping.

Looks good. As far as the stem, everyone pretty much already got it covered, you have it set to where you find it comfortable. Then when you find that sweet spot, buy the fixed version of that angle.

Nice looking bike. Like others have stated, it all depends on what is the most comfortable for you. As for buying the fixed version, I have an adjustable stem on my KHS and I have not had a problem with it. Of course, mine is only 2 months old, so it is too early to tell.

Also digging the blue tape on the handlebars. Might have to do that myself. Was thinking white originally, but seems like it woudl get dirty super quick.

I have the blue on my roadie. But I use my glove to wipe after debris and glass so it's looking pretty dirty now. I would replace it but the tape seems to be of very good quality. I've used several brands of bartape but this Deda is very nice IMO. Only wish I had gone with black. I got tired of cleaning the blue so I might as well have used white!:mad:

That picture was taken when I first got that bike. I switched out the tape immediately. I think that was Bontrager bar tape.
