looks cool. but how well does it clamp down on your bar? It would seem that the space between the hinge and where you bolt it would rise up under pressure, releasing it's grip on the bar. Mind you, I'm probably wrong and it's the cynical, questioning person in me talking.

Cinelli's oyster clamps are hinged although they don't have the top lift off in that way. There appears to be a bolt right adjacent to the hole, so I don't image it would travel much.
