Mountain Biking - SS Converted Mt Bikers - Rennen Rollenlager Owners - Question.
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I keep hearing that the Rennen is the best chain tensioner for converted mountain bikes that have vertical dropouts. Okay, fine. But the Rennen uses a roller... Is the roller on it noisy? I just can't imagine that a chain running overtop of the roller is quiet.
Rennen Owners - Thoughts?
If I may...I'm using the el'cheapo Sette tensioner and it functions perfectly. (and I'm anal)
Sorry that I replied w/o any Rennen experience, but just my 2cents.

I got a cheap spring tensioner with my conversion kit, which told me the same thing I've been reading on forums all along - fixed tensioners are the way to go.
I didn't even have to stand up... the lightest amount of torque and my tensioner was skipping. That's when I decided I most definitely want a fixed tensioner to avoid any BS.
So I have the DMR STS and Rennen. DMR is half the price of the Rennen, but I'm not sure how it is in terms of functionality. Regardless, both use a roller. *shrug*
