Folding Bikes - Great REI service on Recalled Handlepost

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I brought my 2008 Buzz Flyby (which was part of the Dahon handlepost recall) back to REI.
I could either leave it there a few days, or return it for a full refund.
Since I was going to sell the bike after it was fixed, I returned it.
We had a similar experience with Performance Bike. Their local store took back our 4 months old Vitesse D7hg for full refund, including shipping. They have an excelent satisfaction guarantee so possibly they would accept it even without the recall. Since we were not happy with the gear range of the D7HG, it was a good opportunity to upgrade to a Dual Drive MU P24.
BTW, they said that they had 8 Dahons waiting for the retrofit parts and that they have difficulties getting them.
