Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I know the introduction thread isn't browsed by many people, so I decided to post this here.

A new member squadcar has replied to a couple of posts here already.

Check out his intro:

It is indeed an honor when a someone with direct knowledge from the days when the bikes we love were built stops by, and is willing to share that knowledge.

Let's not let the opportunity to ask questions pass us by.

We need to "download" all his knowledge stat and get it on a website. I bet HarrisCyclery would love to host the info.

To squadcar:

Welcome! I think I saw you respond in a thread about a very large proteus. Unfortunately I know very little about the make. Where they custom build in your shop?

Question for squadcar: first off: welcome! We're privileged to receive your contributions.
Back at least a year ago (probably 2) there was a mystery bike shown that had "PD" engraved somewhere on the frame. It's been so long I can't remember where the engraving was located. Many clues pointed to it being a US-built frame, and...I wonder if you recall those initials ever being engraved on Proteus Bicycles?
DOH!, nevermind! I happened to find the old thread and you ALREADY answered the question! That's amazing, and turns out it IS a Proteus. We love a happy ending and a positive ID!
