Introductions - hello

Hello there I just signed up as well as just got my first road bike ^ ^ its a Scattante R-330 well im going to pick it up tonight and so any tips on riding commute and basically exploring would be great :D ( maybe if i get in better shape ill enter a bike marathon for fun :P )

i am not a road racer but i see them all the time here on long island. seem to be more of them than people with regular bikes. too fast for me and i don't really use a bike for exercise but just for running errands and getting some fresh aire, but to each his own. boy those racing bikes are sure expensive tho

Marathon? Do you mean triathlon/duathlon or organized ride like a century (100 miles)/metric century (100 km [~62 miles]) or charity ride (usually has options like 25, 40, 50, 62, and 100 miles).
