"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Paul and Phil drinking games for 09 Tour

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So what’s your Paul/Phil drinking game phrase? (sorry non US members)
Mine is Sherwen’s “completely and utterly,” as in:
“Big Jan Ulrich has completely and utterly buried himself chasing down that break”
“Young Andy Schlek has completely and utterly destroyed the lead group with that latest acceleration”
“When the peloton is in single file like that you know that every rider is completely and utterly on the rivet.”
The alcohol will flow freely

I suspect you were drunk when you started this thread.

my alcohol tolerance isn't so good. I could handle maybe one drink per Ask Bobke. that is about ....ONE DRINK.

Their schtick grows tiresome. If you really want to get hammered, do a shot every time Phil gets a rider wrong or makes a wrong prediction.
After watching the Giro on US, I'm dreading the Tour on Vs.

Agreed on Phil. Altho I wasn't that impressed with Universal either -- the English commentator got it wrong a lot--calling Armstrong up the road when he was actually off the back etc., in fact I was surprised that coverage was so Armstrongcentric.
I also listened to some of the Giro on Eurosport audio-feed which had a lead commentator (don't know name) plus Sean Kelly--and that seemed quite a bit better.

I watched the live feed in the morning online. I thought the guy was decent, though not spectacular.
What was great was big blocks of racing, so you got to see strategy play out instead of Vs. 3 minutes of racing, two minutes of Lance's new graphics, and 4 minutes of bad commercials. They could completely drop the idiotic Carmichael segments, the "up close and personal" carp about all the US riders (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) and just show more of the race. Fire the 5 man announcing crew, hire two newbies, and use the savings to cut the commercials in half.

There's a lack of drinking games in this thread.

If I even smell alcohol I think I would be drunk. My tolerance is gone waaaaaaaay down.

First I get "Armstrong, Armstrong, Armstrong" from 8:30 to 8:45 this am on Versus while I'm waiting for the Armstrong adhesive in the middle of the floor to get tacky. Then I get a whole day of laying down and trimming commercial grade Armstrong tile. Enough of this Armstrong stuff. I'm tired, but the floor looks great.
Phil's funny: " But he (LA) goes and hammers all shades of sheit out of them."
From '99 Tour - the "How do you like them apples?" Sestreire climb.
Quoted in the current 'Outside' issue with LA on cover. I confess/don't give donkey's ass that I did buy for the TdF/Lance stuff and was not surprised - there's nothing new at all in the story. Utter pap.

Dude, I counted "completely and utterly" at least 4-5 times within the first 10 minutes of the race.
Are you trashed? It wasn't even 8am!
