i'm planning to sell my mountain bike, but i have no idea what i could ask for it. it's a 1997 specialized s-works m2, xtr rd and brakes, xt fd and shifters, 8 speed, manitou sx ti fork. it's mango yellow. it's in very good to excellent condition, never crashed, though the original mavic 217/xtr wheels are in sad shape. the front wheel has a click and the rear rim needs to be replaced. however, the bike also comes with a set of perfectly good sun rino lite/lx wheels.

so... what is this beast worth? i haven't ridden it in over a year, and i'm not likely to... and frankly, i could use the money.

Yep I knew I would get that response as soon as I clicked "post quick reply." Oh well, with good pics one could determine value better.

With the wheel probs. and the fact it is an old model I would say 400$ - 500$ tops if you are lucky. Granted it does have XTR/XT but for 600$ or 700$ you can get a decent ht with XT components and a good fork.
