Anyone using compact cranks w/ 650 wheels? Understand why they are good for 700's. Am curious if they would be useful for 650 wheels on a flat tri bike course. Thinking that spinning at 90+ cadence would help legs on the run. Any opinions or real world experience would be welcome. :)

Thanks,

No need for them on a flat course. But if you ride flat tri courses on the big ring, a 50T big ring could give you better chain line than a 53T as you'd be riding one cog smaller on the cassette. Example: to go 23mph at 90rpm with 650C wheels and 53T big ring, you'd use the 15T cog. But if you had a 50T big ring, you'd use the 14T cog.
