Would you suggest to invest in a chain tensioner for freeride/extreme freeride?

Looked in shops, the design that was a little better than mine (kidding) was a boomerang flat alu piece that mounted on bb, through a hole in the center. had 2 wheels on either end and both had a pin\ setting position>3?
Nice part, didn't get to handle it though and obviously not a recommendation from usage.
Gonna rip THAT design bro. Bit complecated, I'll probably use a different position system.
I don't remember the brand, store is close, I'll ask them later.
Edit: saw garbage as low $15.00 on the net. $105.00 had 2 bashring with 2 wheel design.
