Ordered a pedal/shoe combo from Performance last week online. It's now 4 days later and the order still has not even been processed. :( Email from customer service confirmed the order has not processed.

Are they always this slow?? Is it not a good idea to order online from these guys or what? This is my first order with them. I had not read anything bad about the company but I'm beginning to wonder. I'm just really used to companies that ship same day or at the very most next day. This is ridiculous.

They're slow to ship but I'm not liking the "out of stock" answers I'm getting. More than one promise date for a shipment.....

I find it helps to phone in your order rather than do the whole thing online - this can help get you answers about product availability and shipping before you actually place the order.

I learned this the hard way when, after a month and several "this item will arrive in our warehouse on this date" emails, the Ultegra cassette I'd ordered still hadn't come in. I called Nashbar and they had it in stock that and could ship it that very day. I ended up losing 10% on the discount coupon (10 vs. 20) but I got the product. From then on, I phone them first.

Other than that, they've been great to buy from.

I feel your pain. My last shipment took 2 weeks. I now weigh savings vs immediate gratification before I order. Sometimes it's worth it to pay a little more.

I haven't had any problems with them. I've placed 2 orders and selected the 2nd day FEDEX Air option for $3 more than ground, and both times the package was at my house 2 business days after I placed the order thru their website (online).

I guess it pays to give them that extra $3.

Hmmmmm... I've been ordering stuff from them for well over ten years and haven't had any problems other then being out of stock on items once in a great while. I'm a little reluctant to buy any of there name brand clothing, my experience has been the sewing threads come undone. Their neroprene (sp) booties are great, just get them two sizes larger then your shoe.

I've found them to be slower / less communicative then say Nashbar, Jenson or Pricepoint. Knowing so, I take it into account when ordering something I really need. If I need it ASAP, I shop elsewear, even if it means more $$.

Performance orders always seem to take around 2 weeks to arrive and they never give me updates. I don't know if my order was ever processed until it arrives in the mail. I use them because they use USPS, and they're the only courier that has access to the mail lock boxes at my apartment building.

Performance is slow. I just received some stuff from Exceltoday and am still waiting, and expect to keep waiting for awhile, on a shipment from Performance that was ordered at the same time.

Since I expect slowness I don't order things needed immediately and, on the upside, have never had problems with mistakes, backorders, etc.

Sometimes performance is slow... sometimes my orders will ship the next day but I think aebike.com is even slower... :(

If the item you want is "out of stock", you'll be in for a long wait. I had an Ultegra derailleur on back order for over a month, then once it shipped it took 2 weeks to receive it. You'ld think Performance would give you another shipping option for back-ordered items, other than "you'll receive the item in 7-10 business days".

I ordered a heart rate monitor and pair of gloves from PerformanceBike last week. Selected the cheapest form of shipping. Less then 30 hours later I had my stuff. Not bad, if you ask me.

Well I tell ya...I'm not exactly thrilled about their "customer service" so far. I finally just went ahead and gave them a call and talked to some woman that sounded like she'd just chain-smoked 2 packs of smokes and had a pint of Jack Daniels. This woman sounded ROUGH! She was not pleasant at all, but she did tell me my stuff had shipped and would take.....yep, you guessed it...."7 to 10 days" to get here. :( Guess I shoulda paid that extra 3 bucks.

You can't really be too upset about the 7-10 day shipping time. They do have the options there to upgrade the shipping. Standard shipping is there for those who don't want to pay the extra.

I paid $20 for a Team Performance membership. With the 10% points you get back, you only need to spend $200 in a year for it to pay for itself, and you get a free upgrade to 2 day shipping. Every order I've placed for the last 6 months since I bought the membership (which is probably about 1 per month) has arrived in 2 days.

I too paid for Team Performance membership. But if the item you order is out of stock, Performance will NOT give you the shipping upgrade on that particular item. Once the out of stock item finally arrives at the distributor, it ships snail mail, i.e. 7-10 business days. I waited over 40 days for an out of stock item.
Other than that, I think ordering from Performance is very beneficial to those who spend a fair amount of dough.

Ordered a fork and computer on Monday afternoon, fork shipped Tuesday and arrived here Wednesday. The computer was said to have shipped seperate, so I have no idea how long that will take even though it is listed as "in-stock" on their website.

I paid for FedEx ground, since I am so close to their warehouse I get the packages overnight no matter which FedEx service I use.
